Worktray Docs

A private, type-aware workbench for the files behind your ideas.

Worktray keeps notes, payloads, requests, code, and visual assets together, with the right editor selected automatically.

  1. Open Worktray in your browser or install the Mac app.
  2. Start typing or paste content into the initial scratch file.
  3. Rename the file when it becomes worth keeping.
  4. Let the extension select the purpose-built editor.
  5. Keep related files together in a tray.
  • Purpose-built editors for JSON, YAML, Markdown, cURL, JWTs, code, images, SVG, tasks, and more
  • Searchable trays that keep the pieces of one problem together
  • Browser-local persistence without an account or backend
  • Folder-backed trays and native capabilities in the Mac app

Worktray is a private workbench built from ordinary files:

  • files are the source of truth
  • extensions select editors instead of storing hidden file types
  • trays hold the working context for one problem
  • your content stays local unless you explicitly export or send it somewhere
